Beanbag research.

Product claims, published studies and buying recommendations answer different questions. Our research articles look at the evidence behind a claim, the limits of the source and what that information can reasonably tell a shopper.

Ask what was actually studied

Before applying a study to a purchase, look at who participated, what seat or material was used, what the researchers measured and how long the observation lasted. A result about one setting does not by itself establish that a particular retail beanbag will improve sleep or comfort for everyone. Follow the original study links in our research articles for that context.

Apply the same care to reviews. Check whether an author used the exact model, whether the article explains its method, and whether its recommendation rests on experience, published specifications or a mixture of the two. Our model records document manufacturer facts; our editorial order is a judgment about suitability. The ownership rubric makes its inputs visible, so you can see which features were confirmed and which remain unknown.
