First decide whether it needs refilling

A foam beanbag that has settled may need the manufacturer’s prescribed fluffing routine rather than extra material. A bead-filled design may have a different maintenance process. Begin with the instructions for the actual product instead of assuming all beanbags flatten for the same reason.

Inspect the cover and seams for leakage or damage. If filling is escaping, adding more does not repair the problem. Record the model and approximate age before contacting support; this helps distinguish normal maintenance from a component failure.

Confirm compatibility

Ask the manufacturer which refill is approved, how much the model requires, and whether the chair is designed to be opened. Bead size, material, foam type, and the amount of fill can affect the finished seat. A bag labeled “beanbag filling” is not evidence that it is suitable for yours.

Check whether replacement fill is sold directly, offered through customer support, or unavailable for that model. Do not defeat a permanent closure to turn a nonrefillable chair into a refillable one. The closure is part of the product’s design, not merely an obstacle.

Prepare the workspace

Follow the product’s specific opening and filling instructions. Keep the work area clear and keep children and pets out while loose filling is exposed. Have another adult help if the manufacturer’s procedure requires controlling both the liner and the refill container.

Do not improvise a universal fill quantity. The aim is the manufacturer’s intended volume and behavior. Overfilling can make a chair difficult to close or change the way it supports its shape, while underfilling can leave it unusable for the intended position.

Check it before returning it to use

Close every liner and cover correctly, restore locking features, and remove spilled material from the room. Inspect the seams again after shaping the chair. If the closure or cover appears strained, seek product-specific advice rather than continuing to force it.

Refill availability is worth considering at purchase time, even if you do not expect to need it soon. It can make ownership more flexible, but it is not a guarantee that a particular filling will maintain its original feel indefinitely. Compare the cost and work of maintenance with replacement parts and warranty support.
