Lovesac Size Comparison: All Five Sacs & Cosac Alternatives
Compare all five Lovesac Sac sizes and Cosac’s 5ft, 6ft and 7ft alternatives, with dimensions, weights and practical floor-space calculations.

Which Lovesac size should you choose?
Start with CitySac for the smallest round footprint, MovieSac for a personal lounge corner, SuperSac for more room to curl up, and BigOne when the room is organized around a large shared seat. PillowSac is the separate rectangular option. Its long, flat dimensions need a different layout from a round Sac.
Cosac is also worth comparing if you want a round foam lounge in a five-, six- or seven-foot size. The cross-brand chart below matches those diameters to the nearest Lovesac option, including where there is no direct size match.
Our recommendations are room-planning judgments based on published dimensions. We have not tested all five sizes side by side. The right choice leaves space for the person, nearby furniture and getting up, as well as the unoccupied bag. This guide covers foam-filled Sacs; Sactionals sofa modules use a different sizing system.
Lovesac dimensions and weight chart
Lovesac’s current size guide supplies the measurements below. Heights describe the fluffed product, not the height of a person sitting in it. The older Sac brochure agrees on the dimensions but lists PillowSac at 35 lb; the current online guide lists 36 lb. Treat all measurements as approximate and confirm the selected listing before ordering.
| Model | Width × height or length | Weight | Planning box |
|---|---|---|---|
| CitySac | 36 in wide × 39 in high | 35 lb | 3 × 3 ft |
| MovieSac | 48 in wide × 43 in high | 45 lb | 4 × 4 ft |
| SuperSac | 60 in wide × 46 in high | 75 lb | 5 × 5 ft |
| The BigOne | 72 in wide × 49 in high | 95 lb | 6 × 6 ft |
| PillowSac | 54 in wide × 75 in long | 36 lb* | 4.5 × 6.25 ft |
Planning boxes are our conversions of listed dimensions, not recommended clearances. *The older manufacturer brochure gives PillowSac as 35 lb.
Cosac vs. Lovesac sizes: match the actual diameter

Cosac’s size chart lists the three options below. The complete package includes the outer cover, liner and filling. Matching diameter does not establish the same height, usable seating area or feel; Cosac’s chart does not supply a comparable fluffed height.
Cosac 5ft is closest in listed width to SuperSac, and Cosac 6ft to BigOne. The 7ft Cosac is wider than any round Sac in Lovesac’s five-model chart. MovieSac and CitySac are smaller than these standard Cosac sizes. PillowSac has a rectangular layout, so it is not a like-for-like diameter comparison.
| Cosac size | Diameter / weight | Nearest Lovesac width | Planning box |
|---|---|---|---|
| Cosac 5ft | 60 in / about 30 lb | SuperSac: 60 in | 5 × 5 ft |
| Cosac 6ft | 72 in / about 40 lb | BigOne: 72 in | 6 × 6 ft |
| Cosac 7ft | 84 in / about 55 lb | 12 in wider than BigOne | 7 × 7 ft |
Cosac heights are not confirmed here. Allow additional space for feet and circulation.
CitySac vs. MovieSac: what one extra foot changes
Draw a three-foot square and then a four-foot square around the same center point. The larger outline extends six inches farther on every side. That can be the difference between leaving a drawer usable and blocking it, even though the product names sound like neighboring sizes.
Our calculated planning boxes are 9 square feet for CitySac and 16 for MovieSac, before adding any clearance. Those are bounding squares, not measured occupied areas. Choose the smaller outline when you need to share a bedroom with a desk; consider the larger one when you want to tuck your legs onto the seat. Try both in person if body fit is the deciding factor.
MovieSac vs. SuperSac: allow for the extra bulk
Moving from a four-foot to a five-foot bounding square adds 9 square feet, or about 56 percent. That is a more useful way to picture the upgrade than thinking of it as just one foot wider. This calculation describes the room reserved for the bag, rather than its exact circular surface area.
Tape the larger outline down and leave it there while you use the room. Pull out the desk chair, open cupboards and carry a laundry basket past it. For a room where seating moves regularly, consider how you will roll or reposition the filled bag. For a permanent lounge corner, extra width may be a worthwhile use of the floor.
SuperSac vs. BigOne: plan a shared seat around the room
The six-foot planning box needs 36 square feet, compared with 25 for a five-foot box. A larger bag may appeal to people who want to share, but width does not guarantee that two adults will like the same sitting position. Compare how you actually use a sofa: upright and apart, curled together, or lying across the cushions.
Put two temporary seats inside the proposed outline and check the view of the television. Include a route to the side table and a place for feet. If the arrangement only works when the coffee table leaves the room, decide whether that is a compromise you will accept every day. The XXL beanbag guide compares other large foam seats if this footprint is your target.
PillowSac: measure the flat and upright arrangements
PillowSac is a different shape, so its 75-inch length should not be compared with a round Sac’s diameter as though they describe the same seat. Its flat bounding rectangle is approximately 28.1 square feet by our calculation. Allow room to change positions if you want to move between upright lounging and lying down.
Check what the chosen package includes, especially when a photograph shows an accent-chair frame or other accessories. Do not assume a flat lounge cushion provides the same sleeping arrangement as an unfolded guest bed. Our Lovesac vs CordaRoy’s comparison explains that separate buying decision.
Measure before ordering a cover or a complete Sac
Identify the model from its label or order record before buying a replacement cover. A tape measure across a slumped seat is a poor substitute for the model name. Compare the exact insert-and-cover package if this is a new purchase; a cover-only price cannot be compared fairly with a filled chair.
Reserve additional space beyond the chart for your feet, the door swing and access to other furniture. The listed product height cannot tell you whether a television is at a comfortable viewing angle. Try a low temporary seat in the intended position, then check whether you can see the screen without changing your usual posture.
Common Lovesac sizing questions
Is a bigger Sac automatically better for a tall adult? No. The published width and fluffed height do not establish usable leg support or how deeply an individual will sink. Try the intended posture and include a footrest in your space calculation if you need one.
Can two smaller Sacs be a better choice than one large Sac? Yes, when each player or reader wants a different angle and some personal space. Compare both layouts with feet and tables included. Two seats also mean two objects to move and two covers to maintain.
Should you buy the largest size that fits? Only if you want the extra lounging area enough to give up that floor space. For a personal television corner, the MovieSac review is a useful next read; for another brand in a similar size, see the Lovesac alternatives guide.
